A vital support to all of our various programs and services is Pastoral Services. Pastoral Services offers spiritual and emotional support that acknowledges each person’s need for healing, growth, and self -fulfillment, and responds with compassion, inclusiveness, and professionalism. Pastoral Services assist individuals in identifying their needs and encouraging personal empowerment by offering spiritual advice, guidance, and counseling, for the purposes of developing positive and healthy lifestyles.

Employees/Volunteers:

 

All employees and volunteers of The Salvation Army Community and Family Services in Penticton have access to pastoral care through the Corps Officers, Community Ministries Director, Family Services Supervisor or Pastoral Care team.

Pastoral care is not only an important aspect of caring for our employees, but is a vital component of our ministry. Employees wishing to access counseling, assistance with personal or family issues, or other clearly pastoral care issues, are encouraged to contact the member of the Pastoral Care team with whom they feel most comfortable.

 

Community:

During the course of client assistance, requests for Spiritual Counseling may be encountered. These requests may come in several forms such as telephone calls, in person or through pastoral care request cards. When a member of the public seeks pastoral care/support they may be referred to a member of the Pastoral Care team or outside referrals. Please contact the church at 250-492-6494.

 

Community Care Ministries:

Our Community Care Ministries Team conducts visitation and condensed church services for seniors in local Care Homes as well as visits those who are shut-in. Each Christmas our Community Care Ministries Team delivers “Sunshine Bags” filled with little Christmas gifts to local Care Home residents to help bring Christmas cheer and remind them that they are loved and remembered.
