We all require a helping hand from time to time. At the
Salvation Army Penticton Community Food Bank we are here
to help. We provide food support to clients with permanent Penticton
residency and we also operate the food bank in Cawston and
Keremeos for residents in need from those communities.

Emergency Food Hampers
You will shop for yourself in our shopping area and choose only the things you need.
There will be a large selection of perishable and non-perishable items.
Generally each hamper contains food for
approximately 4 to 7 days, depending on consumption.
Food Hamper Registration: First Time
1. Call the Food Bank at 250-492- 4788 to arrange an
appointment with our Intake Worker. This appointment
will take approximately 20 minutes.
2. When you arrive for that appointment, please bring the
following paperwork for each member of your household:
(a) 3 month proof of residency
(b) 2 pieces of ID for all household members
(one of those pieces must be picture ID, Birth certificate,
Health card)
(c) Birth certificate (for all children under 19)

Food Hampers are available once per month for families and
individuals in need. Just call the food bank in advance and
let the receptionist know that you are registered and require
a food hamper.
Assistance With Clothing and Household Items Due To Emergencies
Should you or your family experience a home fire, flood, a
sudden loss of employment, a life changing event that leaves
you in need, please call the food bank at 250-492- 4788.
Requirements to register for assistance are:
1. Make an appointment with our Intake Worker.
2. The Intake Worker will assess your specific needs.
3. Bring identification and proof of loss
Referral
General assistance is available through our Intake Worker, linking
clients to other community resources. Referrals are made when
required. Liaison with the Ministry of Human Resources, Mental
Health Branch of IHA, Ministry of Children and Families and other
community agencies on a case-by- case basis.
Spiritual Care
A spiritual care program is available to
meet the spiritual needs of clients, staff
and volunteers. You may phone the
food bank and ask for the Manager.
